Not tech-savvy so please explain like you'd explain to your grandmother 🙂
Using my new Sense fitbit with my Samsung phone.
Sense frequently says "can't find phone", even while the fitbit app is showing that is has just synced with the Sense. Not sure if that is relevant to the reminder issue.
I have movement reminders set for 0800-1900 daily. Sometimes it will remind me. Sometimes it will not. I looked at my Sense at 0955 this morning, looked at the "today" screen and saw that I had only done 100 steps of the required 250 steps for the 0900-0959 hour but no reminder to move had been sent.
Does the Sense need to be connected to the phone in order to get these reminders? My understanding is that it should be sending these reminders regardless of whether or not the Sense is connected to the phone.
I of course have reminders turned on and all notifications enabled. I have done all of the usual things including:
-turning bluetooth off and on
-force stopping the fitbit app
-restarting the phone
-turning notifications off and on
-restarting the Sense
-syncing the Sense with the phone
-going to the fitbit website dashboard and ensuring all the settings there are correct
The reminders still come sporadically, often not at all. How can I get these movement reminders to show up reliably?

@Japonica Yes the hourly steps reminder and achieved are pretty sporadic. When it does notify, it's supposed to be at 10 minutes to the hour. And it appears that it'll only tell you achieved if it actually reminded you. I used to think I had to be under 100 steps to be reminded but sometimes I'll get one at 200+ steps. I haven't figured out a way to consistently get notified. I end up just checking my steps manually once in a while. If I see a "...out of 8 hours" then I know I hit it for the hour.

I agree. There are apps or clocks that can be more reliable in notifying you if interested. I don't use them personally.

It's happening with mine today too. And Japonica is right, for the amount we've paid for these gadgets, they should be a lot more dependable than they are. If I'd known what I know now at the time that I bought my Sense, I'd have gotten something less frilly. Most of the features that caught my eye are only available with a premium subscription. Really? I didn't give you enough money to start with? Definitely not worth the money paid. And if your primary phone number is through Google Voice, forget being able to answer calls via your Fitbit. And for that matter, if answering calls only works through the Fitbit when the phone is near, what's the point? I can just answer with the phone. AND if you wanna listen to your music through your Fitbit, you can't just listen to your music via Pandora or any of the few other services unless you're paying those people money for an account too. Yep, if you're using a free Pandora account you can't listen to music via your Fitbit Sense. Seems you have to be making big bucks to utilize most features. Contacted the Fitbit folks because the free Weather app is always at least 10 degrees off for my location and it's in C instead of F, despite my settings. After making me go through BS to try to troubleshoot it, THEN I'm informed that they're aware that the app is glitchy. Huh, so what was the point of me doing all the troubleshooting crap??? Troubleshoot your end and fix it!!! In the meantime, I'm letting everyone know that they're not worth the money.

Hi @Japonica, @MonicaLBP - the issue may be more with the weak vibration so you don't always feel the reminders, rather than any syncing issue.
There are better ways to handle the reminders by using clock faces from the Gallery.
The one I use is SimpleClockPro which has configurable multiple reminders per hour but better still it shows you directly on the clock face how many steps have been taken so far this hour each time you look at the watch [and also for all hours in the day on another screen] and how many Active hours have been achieved so far without leaving the clock face.
This avoids all the guessing, searching and syncing issues if there are any.
