I switched the sleep setting to sensitive and for only one night did it record restlessness and more detailed data. Now it records just the same as the normal setting. Switching back and forth makes no difference. Only awake and asleep data on both settings. I’ve factory reset, forgot devices in Bluetooth, deleted and redownloaded the Fitbit app and nothing seems to make a difference. Any suggestions?

While some users have found switching the sensitive setting helps, fitbit says that this should not have any affect on the auto sleep detection.
When you say normal sleep, do you mean simple sleep?
It is normal for sleep to include sleep stages. IE: Time Asleep, Awake, Rem, Light, Deep, and a Sleep Score.
Simple sleep gives Sleep, Restless, and Awake Times.
Have you tapped a night in question? Fitbit may have a reason for why simple sleep, reason would be found under the graph.
Have you tried a restart, or shutdown of the tracker?
No consistant heart rate or a sleep period less then 3 hours are the main causes.

As mentioned, resets, shutdowns, forgetting devices have all been done. Both settings record rem, deep sleep, light sleep time awake yes. First time I switched to sensitive, as the manual states it will record restlessness, not only time awake, time asleep. Now restlessness will not show in the graphs no matter what setting is used and I generally sleep very poorly. It did it once, now will not. Probably gonna return this device and there are far too many bugs with this product anyway.
Thank you for your response and effort, much appreciated.

Dose fitbit give you a reason?
An example.

I tried contacting Fitbit through chat about several tissues. Without hardly looking into anything they said send it to them. This isn’t a great option as I would need to buy another heart monitor in the time being. Two issues were solved my be doing better research than Fitbit, and they never even tried to get to this sensitive sleep without restlessness recording issue. So I gave up on them. My sleep details aren’t simplified like the help article.. there is just zero difference when switching between normal and sensitive settings. It worked once and never again. This feel like it could be a problem with the app communication with the sense, since that’s the only way to change this setting.

What is your sleep details e @SunsetRunner? they are not suppose to be simplified, and fitbit says that the sensitivity switch should have no affect on the auto detect. This switch is for the older trackers when the user manually starts and stops the sleep recording.
Which example does your nights look like? Red or purple.
Do you get a sleep score?
Anything under Restoration?
How about the SpO2?
Or the heart rate during sleep.
Do you have a premium account?
Do you see anything like these under the health metrics?
I do have some missing days because my sleep was under 3 hours.
