Sense sleep not recording properly

My new Sense is not recording the whole nights sleep. If I get up to the bathroom during the night is starts my sleep there instead of when I go to bed. I don’t know how to fix this.  I get up every night so if this is going to be a problem it’s not worth having the Sense.  Please help me figure this out.  I tried to follow the instructions that Fitbit gave but I’m not paying another $59.99 to get Google Home App.  So I’m hoping there’s another way.  Thanks

Hi  @Sacnurse. A warm welcome to the forums.

Thank you for sharing the details about the difficulty experienced with your Sense. I'm sorry to hear that it's having difficulties picking up your sleep at the right time.

This can sometimes happen if the heart rate sensors lose a consistent reading or if there’s a bit too much movement when you get back into bed.

Please confirm that you've considered the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?
