Sense stopped charging

ANSWERED

The last few weeks my sense has been really picky with charging. Sometimes I plug it in at night and wake up in the morning and it’s dead even though it was on the charger all night. It recently did that and now won’t turn on no longer how long I charge it or how I position the charger. I already tried buying a new charging cord and that didn’t work. Ideas?

Hi there, @SavannahBullock. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Sense stopped charging even after buying a new charger. I understand your concern, we are here to help you!

I agree with @Jdsenter's advice. Note that there are some issues that affect this, being which power source is used and how clean the contacts are and how well the charger is seated. If you are charging your Sense on the wall socket, try using another CE certified USB adapter for low energy devices.

Additionally, note that sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working.  Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.

When it has had two hours, try restarting your Sense. I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.

If the above doesn't work, please see Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Did you clean the contacts? Sometimes dirt/lotion/skin/etc can get in the little holes and make for no contact. I use a q-tip or something soft, some have report isopropyl or rubbing alcohol, I use hot water then use the dry side of the q-tip to dry and attempt to clean each hole. Could also be bad charging brick or the cable. You said you got a new one but did you test if any power is getting to the pins?

Fitbit Ionic 72.1.15 (recalled), Fitbit Sense 128.6.17 and Pixel Watch 2 BW1A.250605.004.
