Sense stopped tracking sleep. No lights on back

Got my sense on august 4th and it broke already. I take it off before every bath and shower. Once day it just stopped having the green and red lights from the back and wouldn’t track my sleep anymore. Now it’s just a very expensive pedometer. They’re replacing it thankfully but **ahem**.

Hi, @Sarahdem , welcome, may I draw your attention to this article What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device? , you may have turned the HR off inadvertently.

If you are still stuck please post here again.

Cheers

Hi @Sarahdem - it may be suffering water damage and may have other symptoms like short battery life, hot when charging, if so stop immediately.

It sometimes takes a few days for the symptoms to fully appear.

The only thing you can do is restart it, change clock face or do a factory reset. If none of this work it is damaged.

Your reply makes zero sense. My waterproof watch had water damage? Lol. Ok bud. It randomly tracks sleep but usually doesn’t at all.

Hi, @Sarahdem, may I draw your attention to How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? ,(I apologise if you have seen this already) you will see you need to be "at rest" for about an hour before it collects data. If you are a restless sleeper this may interrupt the process. I note you have a second device repeating the issue on the original. If you are still experiencing the problem may I suggest you ask a family member or friend to wear it for a couple of days to see if they have the same issue?

Do you have a tattoo on your wrist where you wear the device? The inked skin layer prevents the LED/sensor array from detecting HR. If this is the case try the other wrist or as above a family member.

The absence of the flashing LED may be down to another issue, if you remove the device from your wrist and put it down the LED will stop flashing after a few seconds, move your device & it starts again and once against your skin & able to detect the reflected LED from your blood flow it remains on.

Another issue that is reported is a failure to charge due to a fault with the charging cable. Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?  explains some problems. Your device's State of Charge can be noted if you sync your phone app, if it's not charging as expected check the 4 little pins in the charging cable puck, they should all be free (they are spring-loaded) and the same height. You may also need to clean the 4 contacts on the back of your "Sense", I use rubbing alcohol but warm soapy water will help if you do not have any rubbing alcohol. You may need to give the puck a gentle wiggle and place it on a level surface to avoid interrupting the charging process.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers
