It was purchased in Nov 2021 and died in Dec 20223. R.I.P.
It started by draining the battery really quick. Each time the draining was faster after a charge. Within a few days, it stopped responding to charge.
Is this normal?

Mine did the same thing.

Mine did this too. I think it's a marketing tool 😉

Hi @Nn_t @19Sandylake @Holly33 - the seals on some watches are not so robust and can deteriorate over time. If they let moisture get in from sweat or other water contact certain functions can stop working properly and the battery can discharge quicker.
If it gets hot while charging stop immediately it confirms an internal fault.
@Holly33 - check the heart rate is working properly because if not it won't be able to measure Sleep and can be a sign of a watch failure.

Not a marketing tool. I bought mine 11/2020
still on same watch, same charger, still getting over 4 days on a single charge.
I think it boils down to use, care, and charging habits.
I clean the charger and back of watch, every charge. I only charge to 100 then remove
i take care not let charging square come in contact with other metal objects in drawer storage. I do not leave it plugged in.
I do not swim or shower with the watch.
Before you rip me on function and durability, I’m well aware of that. Been on the forum since 11/2020 as well.

Thank you for the input Clove6060.
Before the problem happened, I always took good care of it:
- Never wore in to shower or in a tub/swimming pool
- Always charged to 100%
- Never left it on charger after charge
- Regularly clean the back with soft cloth and the contact points with wooden toothpicks
I have been a loyal customer and bought 5 devices from fitbit, 2 luxe, 1 charge5, 1 sense and 1 charge6. Last Oct and Dec, both the charge5 and sense died respectively with exact same symptoms. Charge5 was about 14 months old; sense was 25 months old. R.I.P.

Same story here as yours Nn_t- been a loyal customer, took care of numerous devices and have experienced same lifespan 1.5 to 2 years max.
Why shouldn't I purchase another product (Apple Watch for ex.) next time?

Mine finally went kaput after 2 years. Jump thru the proper hoops contacting customer support, answered their questions, sent the pics they requested of my watch & charger etc. They emailed me my shipping label to send the dead device back to them. About 15 days later ~ recieved a refurbished (shiny, looks brand new) Device.
& no ~ I did not pay for insurance. They just replaced.

Mine died today. No issues at all until it just had the Fitbit logo when I notoced it this morning and won’t go away. I reached out and sent a picture. The representative on the chat had me go through steps troubleshooting but none of them work.
Now I’m waiting for them to get back to me. They said they’re checking the warranty. I had bought the 2 year warranty and I bought the watch September 2021… of course… it dies shortly after warranty ended.

Their support didn't offer me any options. They only emailed me a link to the warranty's page.

2 weeks ago my sense that's just about 1.5 years old, and suddenly black out and not working even after I recharged, just nothing happens and just went black out. Could not do anything. So, I got a new Sense, working well for last few days, and now it couldn't sync with my phone! Restart and it sync for one time, next day it is not able to sync again!!!! Very frustrating! Time to change to Apple watch???

To Fitbit or not to Fitbit is the question for many of us including me. Here is what will help me to decide.
1. What eco system is your phone in? If it is in the Apple world then the Fitbit device will always be the unloved step child because it is owned by the main competitor. So Android will always be a better option.
2. For me the device has to have a minimum of 4 days battery like and have smartwatch features.
3. Good sleep detection and data plus AFib detection is also a must.
Now you can see that narrows it down quite a bit. I am a loyal Fitbit user, Versa 2, Versa 3, Sense 2 (returned that hot mess) now Sense owner since November 2022.
Like everyone else who has posted here I will face the same decision when my Sense looses battery life. Since I am in the Android world my Sense smartwatch features all work flawless on my Samsung Galaxy S21 phone.
What next device should I choose? To make that decision easier go to YouTube and search for DCrainmaker and his channel and he will give a proper review and is spot on with his evaluation. I am keeping a close watch (pun intended) on the Garmin Venu 3. So search for your phone's eco system in DCrainmaker's YouTube channel for devices and read his evaluation. Job done.

They offered me 35% off and it excludes like the Ace 3, but doesn’t exclude another Sense as long as they’re in stock.
Debating if I want to stay with Fitbit.
I started using Fitbit in 2015 and have loved it. Then Google took over and I don’t like what they’ve done to Fitbit. It’s changed so much and I miss a lot of the older features. So maybe is time to switch to Garmin.

I’ve always loved Fitbit since 2015 when I got my very first one.
However, now I’m considering switching to Garmin as I don’t like the direction Google has taken Fitbit in.
