Sense stuck on thermometer screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Around midnight my Sense lost connection with my phone.  The app said it had 73% charge when it disconnected.  I have tried all day to reboot and charge.  Mostly it does nothing, but on 2 separate occasions, it vibrated but never restarted.  Now it has a thermometer symbol on the screen, which usually means that it is too hot or too cold.  That is not what is wrong with it because it is inside my house.

Is it dead or is there any hope?

Hi there, @cactusbek. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Sense is still not responding. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this!

As per the description of your post, it sounds like your Sense got overheated. Hopefully it will recover in a few hours once it has cooled sufficiently. I would recommend taking it off and putting it to one side out of the sun (not in the fridge).

If the issue persists after a few hours, please perform a restart as suggested here.

If you continue to experience the same problem, please try these additional steps that have been useful for other users:

  1. Please sync your device in the Fitbit app.
  2. If you  can't sync:
    • Remove the device in the Fitbit app.
    • Uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app.
    • Set up the device again.
  3. If it's still unresponsive, please try changing the clock face as well and check if you're able to see anything on the display.

It will not turn on, so all of these suggestions are moot.  I have not had it on my arm since I woke up and it was dead.  It has not been in the sun or the refrigerator today.  It has been sitting on a counter.

So now the thermometer has disappeared, but it is still not responding to ANYTHING.  Dead as a doornail.

Thanks for trying to help, but I'm afraid there is no hope for it.

Update:  I left it on the charger overnight and now it has the Fitbit logo on the screen, but it still will not start up.  When I press the button, nothing happens.  On occasion, it will vibrate when I press the button.  Tapping the screen does nothing either.
