Sense tracking sleep while charging

Until recently I had no problems with my Fitbit Sense sleep log. Now twice in the past week, it has logged charging time as sleep. One example: I set my watch to charge at 8 PM. At 10 PM, I collected the watch and put it back on my wrist. Then I spent about half an hour preparing for bed.

Sense recorded this as sleep from 8 to 10, then as being awake for half an hour before falling asleep again.

As a result, it shows me as having 9 hours of sleep when indeed it was only 7.

A similar incident happened a few days later

Welcome back to the community, @Bvlenci, thanks for letting me know about this situation in regards to your Sense tracking sleep while charging.

I recommend you to restart the Sense and check if this situation continues. Let me know how it goes, please.

I've since had a similar problem. I was reading a book, seated in a chair, for several hours before going to bed. I didn't doze off at all while reading. After putting down the book, I did a few chores and prepared for going to bed. The Sense recorded the time I was reading as alternating sleep/awake, followed by a 45-minute period fully awake (after I had stopped reading) followed by sleep.

I doubt that restarting the watch will solve the problem, but I've done it, and will report back. This doesn't happen every day, so it will be some time before I can be sure the problem was solved.

This had never happened before these three episodes. I wonder if there's been some change in the parameters used to determine sleep.

This is a screenshot of my sleep monitor from the most recent episode. The period of wakefulness that I marked in white was the period when I was actively moving about before going to bed. The entire period before that, I was seated in a chair fully awake but reading.
