My Fitbit Sense is very sensitive to water. I don’t bathe or shower or swim with it. If I get a drop of water (splash from washing dishes), the screen goes black. It then require a rest for a week. Many restarts anttemted. After that I have to charge and discharge during 1-3 weeks. Slowly some functionality returns. Screen then does not allow scrolling and battery dies within minutes. Many more resets Another 1-3 weeks rest and slowly scrolling works again. First up/down and then after a few more charges and discharges, it begins working again.
this is the third time this has occurred. Fitbit CS always inform me that the watch is not reparable but I assure you that after this long procedure it starts working again.
Has any one else experienced this?

Hi @DebbiePM - unfortunately the watch did get water in it from the symptoms you describe.
Eventually it can dry and work a bit but lots of things may not work properly, as it is damaged, but be careful when charging it as it can get hot and if so stop immediately as it is dangerous.

Mine just died after swimming, so I'm going to try your method to see if that works to bring it back to life. Thanks for posting your experience 🙂

Be careful. This happened with mine after swimming. It had almost a full battery but after swimming I noticed the screen was black and it wouldn’t respond. When I plugged it in, the Fitbit logo popped up for a second then disappeared. I left it to charge overnight. When I woke up, I noticed the screen was bright white. I went to grab it off the charger and it was burning hot to the touch. Thank god I noticed when I did and it didn’t catch on fire.

I assure you that I NEVER put my Fitbit in water even though it is supposed to be waterproof. I simply don’t trust electronics in water so it’s just not something I do 🤷🏻:female_sign: I was washing dishes and a drop or two landed on my watch face…surely that is not normal!!!!

I had the same issue twice with two different Sense units. Both were water issues. You are supposed to be able to swim with it. Second time I was power washing and it got wet. Mine have never come back and worked. Both got super hot when trying to charge. Fitbit now has me going around in circles to try and get a replacement. I’ll probably never get another Fitbit which is sad because I like all the functions. The units just don’t last.

Hi @LouP2 - unfortunately the seals on some watches aren't reliable and if it gets hot when charging it's almost certainly water damage.
Even though it's not uncommon Fitbit will only replace if it is under warranty.
@DebbiePM - splashes may be enough, if it stops working.
