Hello @rickb317 and welcome to the Community.  No, you don’t start all over.  You tap on your devices icon in the upper left of your app, then Add more devices near the bottom of the screen.  When you tap on the Sense 2, the app will tell you that the Sense 2 will replace your Sense.  This is normal, you can’t have both on your account at the same time.  Continue with the setup.  It’s pretty straightforward.  After you are done, remove the Sense from your phone’s Bluetooth list.

I estimate that I’ve had 10 different Fitbits on my account.  One account, all the stats.

Your data is stored in the main fitbit database under your fitbit ID/email.  As long as you use the same fitbit account, you can switch watches as often as you like and your historic data will all look continuous.  Be sure to sync from you old watch before switching to get all data to the main database.

@rickb317 if you buy a new Fitbit device, all the data from your previous device will still be there. The app knows it's you even if you change Fitbits.

Nothing should change as far as your data.

I personally don’t think the Sense 2 is an upgrade. It has lost a lot of features.

Do your research before making the switch. I purchased a Sense 2 after having a Sense 1 for a couple of years and I was dissatisfied with it. It’s sitting in a drawer now.

i guess it just depends on what you’re looking for in a smartwatch/ tracker.

If you are expecting to see better hardware, better sensors, more health data, a faster snappier processor, then yes the Sense 2 is a step up.

If you want to write your own apps, or install 3rd party apps, music on the tracker(waste of battery) then no it is not better, however I suspect these will be removed from older models

Thank you for your response. I am interested in the things you mentioned in
your first paragraph. Those are the things I am looking for so it will be a
good choice for me.
