@alan48 Welcome to the Community Forums.
I'm glad you're taking advantage of your Sense and because your post didn't mention, may I know how was your activity tracked? Please note that aside of the Exercise app, your Sense can automatically detect Elliptical activities using SmartTrack and based on the continuous movement of your arms. However, if you stop in the middle of an exercise or before the time set, the exercise will be interrupted.
Assuming you're using this function, please restart your watch to refresh its performance and use the moving handle during your exercise. Also, make sure your activity is longer than the time set in the Fitbit app.
