Sense won't sync anymore

I have my Sense for 2 years now. I love it. What I don't love is that for some mysterious reason, it keep losing the ability to synch. It still reads my heart-rate, but one day, it will not take calls, find my phone, notify me of SMS, email et cet. And It will not re-sycnch.  The only way I can get a fully functional FitBit again, is to do a factory reset. It works well for a couple weeks or maybe a month. And then one day, my beloved FitBit will not notify me of my messages, or take calls, or find my phone. It just sudenly stops doing all the things that make it so useful. All the while it continues to record my heart rate and support me with exercise.

I have been dealing with this for 2 years, and have tried everything. I am not tech stupid. I am looking through the comments, and they're many people reporting the exact same thing. The moderators attempt to lead each of these people through same old step that do not address the actual problem. There is a bug, a synching bug. You know about it. Do they train the moderators to not talk about this?

Hi @Ryefield - in reading your post I get the impression it is not a watch problem but more a phone issue or settings change.

You can install the free SimpleCheckUp app on the watch which you can use to see better what is happening when there is a problem.

Instead of doing the cumbersome factory reset address the troubleshooting to the phone and turn off any other devices.

You may have to simply restart the watch only.

Hey Guy_

No settings are being changed on the phone. Everything is exactly the same. One day, and usually after a leangthy separation between my phone and the fitbit (When lock my phone in a locker and swim and workout with the fitbit for a couple hours) The FitBit loses the ability to re-synch with the phone for the purposes of notifications, accepting calls, et cet. The fitbit still records and transmits data for the purposes of steps and heartbeats.  But when going on to the app on my phone, or the desktop hub on my computer, those two access points register that a synch is failing even in the same moment they record heartbeats and steps. I am unable to re-synch, unable to receive notifications, yet still able to record heartbeats, steps, et cet.

The only thing that fixes this is to factory reset the fitbit.

@Ryefield- make sure you are not running 2 devices with the Fitbit App or web at the same time. This may be the cause.

What does SimpleCheckUp tell you?

One device. SENSE 1.  I just had to do a factory reset on the phone again.  This time it stopped recording all data.  SimpleCheckUp displays no issues.

@Ryefield - it may be an issue with the new Fitbit app, if it has changed?

yes, I agree. there is a bug in the app. Step four from FitBit trouble shooting guide is to do a factor reset. This is the only thing that fixes it. I have been through all possibilities. I factory reset my fitbit appx 1 per month. It always begins with a long window of time 4-6 hour of  my phone being out of range with the device. This is step one of the trouble shooting issues. They (developers) know about this.
