Sense won't track sleep

My husbands new Sense won't track sleep. He has also tried my Versa 2 and it won't track there either (although it tracks mine perfectly). Any suggestions for us? I will say that he has sleep apnea but does nothing about it.

Interesting...My husband also has sleep apnea (diagnosed by me).  I bought him a Fitbit Charge, but am having the same problem.  It tracks my sleep but not his.  My Fitbit Inspire also doesn't track his sleep.  It's got to be related to the sleep apnea.  We have an upcoming appointment with a Sleep Study Center.

8/16/22.   Since my original post, my husband was diagnosed with "severe" sleep apnea at Sleep Study Center.  He's using a CPaP machine.  We tried using his Fitbit again at night and his sleep is now being tracked every night.

The two Fitbit devices I have used that track sleep, both state that it needs to detect sleep of at least an hour before auto recording sleep. This causes me issues some nights when I am going in and out sleep for a while. From what I know of sleep apnea from people I know, the condition causes them to wake repeatedly. If this is the case, one option would be to manually start and stop sleep mode. Another option would be to add the sleep log manually after the fact. In my case, once every week or so I am missing time at the start or have two sleep periods where it thinks I was awake for at least an hour. I edit or replace sleep logs to get the sleep results.

It is sad when current technology doesn't work as well for some of us as it does for most others. Due to issues with my wrist, HR wasn't always picked up on prior devices. The Sense does a much better job. If sleep apnea is the reason why sleep isn't being detected, then you may need to use the manual logging until technology improves.

I got it for him hoping that it would help diagnose sleep apnea.  I'm thinking you're correct.  He may not sleep a whole hour without interruption.  Therefore...no data.
