Steps Gone Bonkers

My fitbit sense is about 2 years old. Up until the past few weeks it's been great. Lately the steps counter has been acting possessed. It will jump from 5000 steps to 10,000 and back to 6000 and back to 12,000 at random. These numbers are approximations, but I think you'll get the idea. Anyone else seen this kind of behavior? Any idea if it's the app or the watch itself? I would gladly buy another Sense, but I'm worried it might be an app issue.

Why doesn’t Fitbit fix this problem? I bought it for steps and it doesn’t do the job. Is there a better product?

It is happening on my Versa too, so it’s probably the app… Google has not helped FitBit be better.

Mine was doing this a few days ago but has seemed to settle down now.
