It appears that once you have an app running you can't swap between it and another app or even see the time. For example if you start the exercise app you can swap to another app or even see your clock face which is ridiculous. Another example would be I start the exercise "golf" but I can leave that running and start a golf app or see the time unless I stop the exercise app. Has Fitbit not heard of multitasking?

This really annoys me too!! I've found that while you are in an exercise, if you scroll to the bottom of the screen you can see the time and date 🙂
This is at least one good thing, but I find it really annoying in terms of music control. I want to be able to change songs from my watch and I can't do it without exiting the exercise! Has anyone found a way to control Spotify whilst an exercise is running?

Depending on your button setting, try holding in the button or double tapping to bring up music controls.

@Burrom - regarding golf and recording your exercise at the same time. The Golf GPS Pro app has been updated for the Sense but also automatically tracks your "Golf Exercise". It does not allow you to switch between apps, but it starts the exercise in the background while displaying the Golf app.

Ohh, this is a very good idea! I will try this during my workout today and see if it works. Thanks for suggesting!

I also don't like how there's no ability to "swap" between open apps. While in exercise the only way to access music controls is to double press the button (single press pauses exercise). From there you can swipe from left to right to go "back" to the exercise screen.
Hope they make this easier / more intuitive in the future

@bobby2478 I tried this and it didn't work for me without having to end the workout. I have spotify as my long hold shortcut on the button. When I long held it during a workout it just displayed a message saying 'are you sure you want to end workout?' so I didn't. When you do the above are you saying your exercise pauses and allows you to switch to spotify and then return to the workout function?
I have to say I am sooo disappointed that we can't swap between apps. What's the point of having music control on the watch if I can't access it during my workout ?!?! It's so redundant...

There are 2 shortcuts, the long press of the button and double pressing the button. Double press is the only one that works during exercise and u can specify 4 apps to appear in the double press menu, that's the only way I've found to swap to music while in an exercise

Thanks for your reply @bobby2478 . Oh wow.. I've had my shortcuts for this chosen but couldn't figure out how to make it work!! It's only now that you've explained it and I did about 40 double presses that I seem to have activated it. If this works during my workout I will be so happy! I know app switches should still be possible but this is better than nothing! Thanks a mil 😄

@bobby2478 so I tried this yesterday and it still wouldn't work for me! Does it work for you? I added Spotify to this double tap shortcut and it still made me end workout to use. I also added the music shortcut, and although I could use this app using the double tap shortcut when I first tested it, it wouldn't work at all during my exercise even when I ended the workout! It wouldn't recognise my phone was playing music / connect even after syncing my watch to my phone. So frustrating...
