The number of issues I encounter with this watch is extremely worrying. I have at least 4 cases opened for swimming issue (lap not counting, automatic exercise not working). At least 3 or 4 cases opened since December 18th.
I have srupulously followed steps for troubleshooting (try changing the lenght of swimming, set obective, try automatic detection, update your phone software, update Fitbit app software, reset the watch to factory settings etc.
Each time my case was escalated and EACH time I received the EXACT same response from support : update your app and reset the watch to factory settings.
Yesterday I realized my watch was no longer working for simple activity such as walking. I have followed the steps to reset my watch to factory settings and updated the app. Still not working (easier to test on the spot outside rather than to have to wait to be in a swimming pool. The personn I was chatting live just cut me short and ended the chat.
Since Fitbit was taken over, I am sad to notice that quality of support has tremendously lowered. I remember a time when an issue could not be fixed for over 10 days you had the possibility to send it for analysis and without failing there was an problem found.
Now there are more and more problem on quality of the watches, you get little or no help from customer support, the advantage of having an app with wide community and groups is no longer existent. I can only strongly advise you to favor systems from the competition. I was a fan of Fitbit for over 5 years but it is no longer the case now. I live in France and I have signaled my issues to French Organization in support of defending consumer rigths (DGGCRF) but Fitbit no longer has an legal commercial entity in France. So I feel very stuck and left down.
