Time asleep score?

I’m not sure how the time asleep score is calculated; I got within two minutes of my target time asleep and also within 15 minutes of my target bedtime and wake time, yet only scored 43/50. Shouldn’t this be higher?

Not necessarily

My thoughts if you selected a time asleep goal and got within 2 minutes and within 15 min of target bedtime,

You’re short 7/50 or 14% shy of perfect

Your time asleep is calculated by subtracting your time spent awake and restless from your overall tracked sleep time. For example, if you slept 8 hours but woke up 2 times for 15 minutes each, your time asleep would be 7 hr 30 min.

Your overall sleep score is a sum of your individual scores in sleep duration, sleep quality, and restoration, for a total score of up to 100. Most people get a score between 72 and 83. Sleep score ranges are:

  • Excellent: 90-100
  • Good: 80-89
  • Fair: 60-79
  • Poor: Less than 60
Duration: Time asleep and awakeHow much you slept—the more you sleep, the better your score.
Quality: Deep & REM sleepHow much time you spent in deep and REM sleep—the more time you spend in these sleep stages, the better your score.
Restoration: Sleeping heart rate & restlessnessHow relaxed you were during sleep—a high sleeping heart rate or too much tossing and turning lowers your score.

Thank you, I do understand the algorithm, just wondering if there are other factors affecting Duration. The confusing part is that I've gotten higher "Time Asleep" scores when I've been farther away from my duration target, including both the 'time asleep' and the bedtime/wake time.

For example, last week I slept only 6 hr, 57 mins (6:57  asleep, 29 mins awake) on the same target of 7h, 45 min, and woke up an hour earlier than my target wake time, and my Time Asleep score was higher (45/50) than the night where I was closer to my goal (7h, 43 min asleep, 38 min awake on a goal of 7h, 45 min; asleep within 8 mins of bedtime and awake within 10mins of wake-up time) for a score of 43/50, 2 points lower than the night I was farther from my targets.

I am very curious about this too!

My sleep goal is 8hrs... yet no matter how long my "time asleep" is, my "Time Asleep" score is between 40 and 45. Sometimes I'm short of my goal from an hour to a few minutes but sometimes I'm way over (even an hour over!) and it is always between 40 and 45 no matter what. How the heck is this number calculated?

Same! I reached both my bedtime and sleeping time goals and got 45/50 for sleep time. What am I missing?
