Hi guys,

Like the rest of you I'm sure, I now have the below option in my (Android) app:

Is there any point in waiting to transfer? - just curious 🤔

I'm led to believe the official shutdown of the Fitbit app isn't until some time in 2025.

Thanks.

Hi @slipd  from the posts on these forums, I'd have to tell you NOT to change over to a Google account. There seem to be a few kinks right now. I have a Fitbit account, but I'm not switching it over until I have to, which is 2025. click to learn more

Thanks for the reply! I'll hold off for the time being... I'll probably be on a Pixel 2/3 by then anyway 😉

Nothing changes. I set up my account a couple of months ago with Gmail. Last week I received that message too, so I "mooved" to Google thinking "may be new features will be available or compatible" but nothing changes in any aspect. So, move or not, it's the same (boring) thing until now. No music transfer from Spotify, no NFC payment (I'm in Argentina and a few banks are available but still not working), any way, I decided to buy this brand because it's the only one that can pair with 2 or more devices when of them loose the connection, without resetting the watch, just like in 99% of ABC1 brands...

There's a problem as of yesterday with the android app after switching it to Google. It's totally blank and won't connect to the watch. I can't see any past records and the app is currently functionally useless. Same for my husband using a different fitbit watch.

Sorry to hear that. I'm using the attached version (lastest update) of the app on android 13 with a sense, with no issues until now.

I got a new phone and while trying to get the fitbit app set up for my Sense, I must have agreed to transfer to to google.  What a mistake.  After hours of trying to get things going again nothing is working -

  • Old phone shows greyed out tiles and no data except for heart rate and very little else.
  • New phone  won't let me log in.  When I click "log in with google", it give error message "Something went wrong", with no indication what to do.
  • On PC, I can log in (using my my google gmail account), but can only see some old data.

I think FitBit has gone to Google to die.  My recent experience is making me think of moving to Apple.

I  am not wanting to switch to google don’t feel I should have to, I have been with Fitbit since first watch. Also wondering when a new watch will be coming out, feeling like never, I hate to say it but google is here to kill the watch…. And force you to use a less accurate Apple Watch , good job google of ruining a great thing, nobody uses androids anyway!!!
