Unable to update the Coach app on Sense

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just got my sense. So excited. Trying to update the coach app and the bar just keeps moving back and forth, and because of that, I can't change my watch face (which also just shows the bar running back and forth but not changing anything). How do I cancel what I'm trying to do so I can start again? I tried restarting the watch, I tried restarting the phone... I tried turning my Bluetooth off and on again.... Please help!

Hi @CBarton31. Welcome to the Community Forums.

I'm happy you got the Sense and thanks for the steps tried prior to posting. I'm sorry that you're not able to update the Coach app or change the clock face. Just to confirm, did you make sure to have your watch and the Fitbit app updated? Is your watch also syncing correctly? Even though you've tried troubleshooting your watch, please give a try to the following:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and remove your Sense from the list.
  2. Turn off the Bluetooth on your phone and any other device nearby.
  3. Force stop the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Turn on the Bluetooth and open the Fitbit app. Pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Then, tap your profile icon > Sense > Apps and try updating Coach first. Once that is done, try changing the clock face one more time.

I'll look forward to your reply.

@LizzyFitbit I'm having this problem too and it just started recently. I even did a factory reset, tried to update the Coach app again, and now it's completely blocking everything else from installing. This appears to be a bug. Can you please ask the devs to fix this? What can we do in the meantime as a work around?

Hi @mbarylski. It's good to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for joining this thread and for the steps tried on your own to get your apps installed on the Sense. This shouldn't be happening and to further investigate, may I know the model and OS/software version of your phone? Did you also try the steps suggested in my post? If by any chance you're getting an error message when installing other apps or clock faces, please take a screenshot and attach it in your reply.

I'll look forward to your response.

I got it working by setting up my phone as a hot spot.

LizzyFitbit: Thank you for your clear instructions. I have the same problem, and though I followed the instructions you gave here, the Coach app is still buffering, or trying to install (the red bar just goes back and forth, and if I force quit, I get the message asking if I want to continue installing). I DON'T want to continue installing; I just want this thing to stop. If it hampers changing watch faces, I will be very upset. Please help me to either quit Coach altogether, or to uninstall it. Thanks.
