Why does the fitbit wait an hour to detect sleep?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

And why isn't this configurable?

It seems a very long time to begin logging data.

Also if I wake up in the middle of the night for any length of time I end up missing a lot of detail sleep data.

Hi @MarkFolse this really depends on how busy the fitbit server is.

Ideally, after waking up, and after moving around for at least 10 minutes. With next sync of your data, Fitbit processes the data, detects the the sleep, and in a second sends the data back to the app on the phone.

However, if the sync happens to soon after waking up a second sync will be needed, or the server is very busy and we have to wait.

In the past, I've waited up to 8 hours, which makes no sense, unless the server has problems.
