Why does this device not continue counting steps when battery is low

My old Fitbit tracker kept counting steps even if the battery was low as long as my phone was near my phone is right next to my sense battery was at 20% this morning it only counted 3000 of my 6000 steps aargh

Hi, @Margo314, welcome, your "Sense" should under most circumstances, track your steps with reasonable accuracy. You may find these articles of interest How accurate are Fitbit devices? and How to make your fitness tracker count steps more accurately - The Verge
