latest iOS app

Sense with latest updates

sense did not update my time today for DST.

timezone was set to automatic, and it had auto set to Arizona (which does not change times)

problem: I live on the coast of California.

corrected by manually choosing the time zone.

but come on, it’s a GPS fitness tracker and it can’t tell what state I’m in?

I had only set it to auto, the app choose AZ. I agree weird that it couldn’t identify my location.

good suggestion with regards to allowing the app to know my location. I only let the app know my location while using. Which should have been enough though.

I opened the app (it should ID the location), sync’d my sense (should pass this location to the watch) and checked time, it was wrong, so I sync’d a couple more times before investigating further.

I was in AZ, but that was almost a year ago, and I have updated the app and got the sense since then.

The other common failures for TZ to update found in other threads would explain my issue. Given CA was in time with AZ until the DST change today. I simply didn’t notice until today.

Hi, you might be in a furious state! lol

It is necessary to sync with the time zone set automatic, if it doesn't work it may be necessary to restart the watch.

It's the act of syncing that sets the time, and it should follow phone time, with the time zone set automatic [which sometimes gets confused and it thinks its off when its on, so may be necessary to toggle it and sync till it gets the message]

You are right though, it should be able to get the time to 1/1000 of a second via the GPS.

Thanks for the advice, however I did sync, several times before investigating the timezone setting.

@Windex I have similar problem. I travelled from UK to Qatar and eventually, it did sync the right time. It was just nearly 2hrs stopover and then I arrived to Oman. I still have time from Qatar. Syncing, rebooting doesn't work. Oh well...

Curious as to why you auto set to AZ which does not change time zones and you live on the coast of Cali

(not that it would matter with the gps)

I have a Versa 3. for daylight savings it shows me on Phoenix MST. I reinstalled the app, shut down the watch and made the setting for Los Angeles. Right now it's on PDT, but I did this before and it popped back to MT. In the list of time zones the only option for Arizona (aka Phoenix) is MT.
