Are replacement Surges refurbished?

I purchased a Fitbit surge in January 2016. A couple months later the band started to seperate. I figured I could just deal with it but it continued to get worst. Sweat would get trapped in the seperation and cause a nasty rash on my arm. I called in and had a replacement ordered within minutes. My question is will this new one be refurbished? I really do not want a used watch! Especially since my skin is so sensitive as is. Can I just opt to get my money back instead of a used watch?

As far am aware, fitbit doesn't has a repair service.

It's only possible to get a full refund if having bought the tracker from the fitbit.com store, and having less than 45 days..

Hi @TiaraJasai - Per the warranty language, Fitbit does reserve the right to repair or reach the device and also to replace with a new or refurbished device. As @SunsetRunner noted above, in reality, I believe all replacements have been new devices.
