Battery draining before my eyes.

Charged my new Surge fitbit but the battery seems to be draining as I watch. I have gone into settings and switched everything off but it makes no difference.

Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to get the supposed longer battery life.

My Surge is almost 2 yrs old. This week, I noticed that it is holding a charge only for a few matters. I am charging it to the max as far as I can tell, but it is draining out very quickly. I've not been using it for a lot of GPS or anything that might use the battery fast. This is a NEW problem, b/c previously, it would hold a charge for 24-72 hr depending on how I was using it. But this is a major issue to recharge it more than once a day.

Mine has just started doing the same. Is it coincidence I have just loaded the new update?

I also believe it's related to the firmware update. I tried live chat with Fitbit Customer Service, but really not helpful at all.

My Surge is 2 years and 7 months old and I am having the same battery problem as most people seem to have.I suspect that this is the maximum life of the battery and has nothing to do with firmware upgrades. I would imagine by now Fitbit has some idea as to how long their batteries last and what their approach is towards replacement or repair is. These watches are not cheap and if their maximum life span is two to three years then customers need to know this, as it would affect a decision to buy or replace a device.

This is an excellent point.  And ridiculous to buy something that the battery will not last more than 2 yrs or so, or at least not without full knowledge of this limitation.
