Brand New Surge, buttons won't work

Hello, I received a Surge today as a birthday present. Everything was working well and then all of the sudden all of the buttons stopped working and therefore I can't even restart it. Please help!

Press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until your screen starts to dim @Kjgarcia

(may take as long as the count of 20 or 30 so keep holding in)

Once your Surge is fully off, press the left button until it powers back up.

Are your swipes and buttons working now?

I tried that and it didn't even turn off. I can slide between screens but none of the buttons work (I held it for a good minute and a half but nothing happened).

excellent, if the screen swipes work - slide over to settings and touch to power off...and then press and hold the left button to power back up...all good now?
