Calorie count lowered by Surge during the day

Today, I went on a 45 mile bike ride.  Partway through, my Fitbit Surge registered almost 2800 calories burned for the day and the ride wasn't even finished.  Several hours later, I checked and it now said I had burned about 2300 calories.  So 500+ were gone.  Now, it's later in the evening and I'm still under 2500.  I just want to know which is more accurate.  I was not manually recording anything.  I wasn't even tracking the ride on the exercise function of the Surge.  So what happened?  This has happened several times in the past both for biking and hiking.

This sounds really odd. This is not a normal behavior from the Surge! Thanks for reporting this, by any chance you have screenshots of the issue. It'd be great to have that data so we can further investigate. Is this possible? Smiley Embarassed
