Can't add friends

How can I add friends it will not let me idk if I have a setting I need to change or what but unless I have them in my phone I can not add friends

Hello @Mrun81 I'm not sure what phone you have. 

There are several ways to add friends. 

  • Ask your friend to send you a link to their profile page. 
  • Send your friend a link to your profile page 
  • Add them by their email address, note: the email address you have for your friend may not be their Fitbit email. 
  • Ask your friend for their fitbit user name. This may not be their community name. 
  • If you know their community name. And a post they made, you can get to their profile and request friend
