Can't turn notifications off after FW update

I don't use notifications and always turn them off. After the latest firmware update to my surge it seems like I'm not allowed to turn notifications off on the surge itself. I can temporarily turn it off, but it automatically turns itself back on.

I have notifications off in both the windows app and the Android mobile app..... so it doesn't seem to be a big deal, and so far it doesn't seem to be using any extra battery life up. I did just download and start using the latest Fitbit Android mobile app, and I really like to turn off features I'm not using.

I have a feeling notifications are on by default with the surge's new firmware, because you don't get a live heart rate reading in the apps with them off. I was getting a bpm reading in the Android app, but it nowhere near matched my surge, and was the same exact number the whole time while my surge varied according to my actual movements.

In my case it doesn't matter because I have all the notification stuff turned off everywhere else except the surge anyway.... so I'm not getting live bpm in the apps and I'm not getting notifications either. I feel like I'm being forced to waste valuable battery power on a feature that I don't even want turned on, but I'm not allowed to shut it off 😞 👎

Hi @Crazy-Fritter thanks for bringing this to our attention. Thanks for including all those details it's very important feedback for us. Cat Happy

Have you tried to forget your Fitbit from the Bluetooth on your phone settings? Then turn them off from the Fitbit App too. Force quite the Fitibt App if this doesn't help. I'll pass this information along. Thanks for informing.

Have a good one.
