Conflicting information about Surge sizing

I'm trying to decide between size small and large, and I'm having difficulty because I'm finding some conflicting information.

This help page says:

  • The small fits a wrist between 5.5 and 6.7 inches in circumference (or 140 - 170 mm).
  • The large fits a wrist between 6.3 and 7.9 inches in circumference (or 161 - 200 mm).

My wrist measures 6 1/8" at the wristbone and 6 3/8" slightly above the wristbone, so that would mean I'm well within the small range, and a large might be a bit too big.

However, the printable sizing guide says:

  • Small 5.5"–6.3"
  • Large 6.3"–7.8"

That puts me right on the edge between small and large, and Fitbit says they recommend choosing the larger size if you're between sizes.

If I actually use the printed measuring strip, I'm a few millimeters inside the small range at my wristbone, and a few mm into the large range above my wristbone.

What size would your recommend for me? I definitely don't want it to be too tight, but I'd rather not have too much extra band length either.

My local Target carries Fitbits, and probably a few other chain stores near me. Are there any stores that will let me try a Surge on before I buy it?
