Confused about the calorie adjustment and exercise syncing

It used to be when I exercised I needed to manually add my exercise in for example running for 35 minutes at a 10 mph pace, and then it would give me extra calories that I could eat or not. Now after exercising today it all of a sudden seems like it did the calorie adjustment automatically, I went for my morning run and it made an adjustment of about 400 cal, so I am not sure if I need to be manually adding exercise also or not, I don't want to over eat since I am trying to lose weight

Your Surge will happily track exercises such as running on its own and will calculate the calories correctly. In fact, to get accurate calories, you only need to manually log an activity if you forget to wear your Surge. There's more information on this in this article:
