I'm now on Fitbit Surge #4 and I cannot get it to charge in spite of trying multiple power sources, cables (including a known good cable). Once they connect via bluetooth it's like hitting a wall. It will sync once, then no charge, no update, nothing. I've tried multiple restarts and every other fix recommended in the forum as well as multiple calls to Customer Support, all to no avail. The single unit that has worked from the very beginning ran through setup like a champ and has had no issues in the two weeks it's been in use. The second original unit has been replaced twice and both replacements have been DOA as well. What gives? Are they really that unreliable? I'm about to send all of them back, including the one that does actually work.

Welcome to the Fitbit family @SJH071936! Seems like you've exhausted all troubleshooting possible for this situation. At this point, I'd recommend contacting our Support Team via email. They're super nice and they definitely have the proper tools to take a deeper look into your trackers' behavior. When you contact Support, it would be a good idea to let them know about the troubleshooting steps you've followed to fix this. This will help them to provide you with a quick solution. Good luck and keep me posted with the outcome!
