I currently have a Surge but have just purchased a Blaze, is it possibly to take me Surge data over to the Blaze? Is it a straightforward process? Thanks.

After sync'ing the Surge, the latest info is on the account. When the Blaze is linked to the account and when sync'ing the Blaze, it takes the data like total steps from the account.

 

It's possible to add the Blaze as extra tracker to the account so it's possible to switch between trackers when desired.
