Did not receive a step badge

Hi I could not find a similar thread despite multiple honest attempts! I ran a marathon on 10/02/16 and unsurprisingly I had a record step day - 51,920! However, I only received the 45,000 step badge for my efforts. I have seen on other threads that it took fitbit some time, for whatever reason, to award badges, but now it has been almost three weeks so I think delay may not be the reason here.

I did not manually log any of my steps.

Thank you to anyone who can help!

Welcome to the Community @trotsky1031! This is a pretty weird thing, you should receive the badge as soon as you sync your tracker or after a few minutes later. The only way that you can earn badges is by pure step based tracked by your Fitbit Surge. I would like you to double check that there's no activity logged during that day by going to your Dashboard > log > activities

If you're still not getting the badge, please provide me with a screenshot of 10/02/16 activities, so I can further investigate it.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted.

Silviafitbit, thank you for responding to my post!

I agree that it is pretty weird and it has not happened before! Please see attached.

As you can see, I did track my activity using the Surge "Run" activity tracker. I always do this with all of my runs and it has never affected my step count or earning a badge, etc. I do not believe this counts as a "manually logged activity" since all I did was use the gps run feature of the watch, which is the whole point and distinction of the Surge from other models. I was wearing the watch the whole day, the battery never lost its charge, the actual fitbit said I took the 51,920 steps.

Also, I earned the 45,000 step badge from that day and I of course did not take 45,000 steps in addition to my marathon run that day, so the fact that I tracked my run using the watch cannot be the reason why I did not receive the 50,000 step badge.

In any case, I hope you can help me resolve this! Thanks again!

@trotsky1031 Thank you so much for sharing those screenshots with me. This is really strange. Hmm, let's try something. You mentioned you did track an activity but it had GPS so it isn't an issue, because it's your Surge's steps.

So, please go to your Dashboard > log > activities > find the activities that you have for Sunday, Oct 2nd. If you see any activity that is there but doesn't have GPS data then please delete it and check if the step count change.

Let me know how it goes! Robot Happy
