Differences in steps between dashboard and challenges

Hiya!
Experiencing a problem today with my challenges! My dashboard is syncing with my Fitbit Surge correctly but then when I look at my challenges my steps are exactly 1000 steps less. Why is this and how do I fix it? I've tried syncing again and I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app!
Thanks!

@Jill1980 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Are all the participants of the challenge in the same timezone? The challenge begins and ends in the challenge owner's timezone, so if you're in a different timezone than the challenge owner, you may notice that your challenge leaderboard stats do not always match your dashboard stats.

Also, here are some possible reasons for this issue:

1. Steps have fully synced to Fitbit's database but you're not viewing the mobile app dashboard in Live Data Mode. (Live data mode would show the word "connected" under your tracker tile).
2. You're manually logging steps. Only steps recorded by your tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
3. You're using MobileRun to track GPS data with your app. Only steps recorded by a tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
4. You're in a different timezone than the challenge owner. The challenge begins and ends in the owner's timezone.

It is also recommended to wait 15 minutes after syncing the data to see if your challenges updates. Take a look at this post for more details about challenges!

I was the challenge starter! Didn't add any steps manually. Only use my Fitbit so don't see any reason for my challenge steps being 1000 behind my Dashboard steps!!

Thanks
