Can the display of ascent gained be transferred from watch to app?

Once the active "run" menu has been exited, is it possible to retrieve the data ?

I've noticed you are new around @RunnerRalph, so let me give you a warm welcome to our Community. Smiley Happy

Once you've sync your Fitbit with your Fitbit account the all the data your Surge has will be transfer there! Now about your second inquiry about the "Run" data, you can not retrieve the data to be shown on the display of your Surge. But you can see your data in your Dashboard by going to the option "Track exercise", the icon with the little man running if you're using the Fitbit App.

You can also see your data the Fitbit.com Dashboard too. Once you're logged in into your Fitbit Account > click on Log > Activity > See attached picture:

You will see your activities in the Activity History list.Heart

Thank you for your reply. I have been using my Fitbit surge for over 2 years, and am familiar with the data shown in the various aspects of the app. Whilst your reply is helpful to a point, I still cannot retrieve the data shown on the watch re. altitude! I am not interested in steps or flights of stairs, which seem to be the closest to my enquiry.

Best Answer

The change in altitude is available on the map of the event at http://www.fitbit.com/activities

It is not availible through the app even though the server has this data.

Well is there a post above you might want to mark as a solution, that way you could be helping others out.

I believe this info is only available if you are using the GPS during your trip. Otherwise it's only floors (which you could multiply by 10 to give you an approx elevation gain, but nothing for decent) and as we all know, GPS kills the battery pretty fast.

Edit, looks like you already know the GPS tracks elevation, so my post may be moot.

Best Answer

That is correct @Emujo, and the reason i stated that it is found on the map.

The tracker is still using the barometric pressure to read changes in altitude, since it is more accurate than gps.
