Editing miles cycled?

Hi

I rode a 65 mile bike ride today but set my Surge to Hike not Bike. It therefore thought I was travelling at 7mph not 17 mph and only logged 28 miles. I have amended the activity from Hike to Bike, but how do I change the distance? The GPS has worked and has the right map route, so I don't understand why the mileage is wrong.

I've noticed you are new around @milesbeecham, so let me give you a warm welcome to our Community. Smiley Happy

If you're Surge is giving you this distance, is because is the one that it recognized; so even if you name the activity differently, the GPS information will remain. You can restart your Surge a couple of times, in case that it is a hardware issue; it might help to avoid this happening again.

Also take in count that if your using your Surge GPS, you need to see if it is connecting properly. If the GPS signal is lost, rest assured that your Fitbit tracker or phone continually  will search for a GPS signal as long as the exercise is in progress. You might have to take in count that the environment you are in can affect the signal strength of GPS.

For example, if you are running in an urban environment with many tall buildings (as you already know), it may take your Surge tracker several seconds to get a fix. For best results, wait for your Fitbit to find the signal before you start your workout. Smiley Wink

About the missing distance, you can manually log a Walk activity so you don't loose those Kms from your overall stats. You can also do it from your phone if your prefer. Please note that manually log activity doesn't count towards your Challenges or Leaderboard list.

I'll be around! Woman Happy

Is there a way to edit the milage that was already logged automatically by the app? I had a similar issue, did maybe 25 miles today but only 7 got registered in the app. Why can't I manually correct that info in the app?
