Exercise Duplication

Hey,

I like the new feture where fitbit will automatically detect a walk or run, that's kinda neet. However, last ngiht I went for a run on my tredmill and actively set my surge in the treadmill setting. Loe and behold, I now have a duplication of running in my app. Shoulden't a manual setup override the automatic logging? Am I missing something here? See the attached images.

Thanks so much!
Trevor

Hi, @Trevor_Harris , that's really odd!  I have always found that starting a manual exercise automatically aborts any SmartTrack exercise.  I will interested to hear if your experience is repeated, or what others have to say,

I have the same issue with my Blaze and iPhone app. I made sure I have the most recent update for FitBit app. The duplicate info isn't even the same for the exact same tracked run. I was told I need to track the activity on the app and the Blaze to get the most accurate distance; is this wrong?

Hi, @MK0717 , you don't need to track your runs on the app as well as the Blaze.  The Blaze will do it for you, and you won't get duplicates and you won't get conflicting information.

Just go to the exercise screen on the Blaze and choose "run".  The Blaze will begin communicating with the phone and will launch its GPS (that's what's meant by "connected GPS").  As soon as it says "Let's go" you can start your run.  At the end you will get only one record of your run, with a map, and the distance recorded using your phone's GPS.
