Hi guys. I know few people had that issue already. The thing is I'm using my watch ( Fitbit surge since more than 2 years and everything was fine till now, suddenly it tracks my steps while I'm sitting on the couch and move my arm( checked it on purpose) and when I walk it won't add any steps. I did restart it , still the same. No matter what hand , dominant or not it still does it.
im really clueless what to do .could someone help me?
How can I put it back on factory settings maybe this might help.
thanks yvonne

I don't think there is anything wrong with your Surge, by all accounts what you've described is normal (errr, except the bit about it never doing that before).

But how can it be that it won't track my steps while I'm walking ?

Do you not swing your arms when you walk?

Thanks for joining us @Yvonnelew! Just like @shipo said it is not normal that your Surge is suddenly getting extra steps when you're not stepping if this didn't do this before.
Since your tracker uses an accelerometer to sense when you're moving, it might be interpretation your hand movements as walking. Have you changed your settings information lately, this type of issues are usually result of changing your Sleep Tracking.
You can adjust the sensitivity to have a better reading on your Fitbit.com Dashboard go to Settings > Advance Setting > Sleep Sensitivity > Make sure that it is in normal.
Hope this works for you, good luck!

Thanks for the clarification @Yvonnelew! If your Fitbit is not tracking steps when you're walking the best course of action would be restart it a couple of times. If you can add more details to the issue would be great.
Is your Surge stuck in a specif screen? Is this charging or receiving the energy when it is connected? Is this syncing but not showing any information?
I'm very interested in helping you out with this!
