Fitbit Notification Service Turning Off

Several months ago, I turned on the function where my Surge would notify me when I received texts or calls.  Love that function!  A couple of weeks ago after my phone was having issues I did a reset -- and this function has not worked properly since.  The problem is the Fitbit Notification Service.  When the phone is turned on, this service does not activate.  If I l go to the Fitbit app, click on the surge icon on the top left, and select Call and Text Notifications, I receive a question about whether I want to turn on the Fitbit Notification Service consistently, but when it goes to the next screen the service is already turn on.  All I have to do is turn the service off and then back on and the notifications begin again...until it stops working.  Cannot find a rhyme or reason as to why the service stops working spontaneously.  I'd be willing to chalk this up to a function this is inconsistent but it worked consistently on my phone for a couple of months with no interruption before I reset it.  Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5 if it matters.  Any suggestions???

Many thanks,

Fuzzylogik

Hello @Fuzzylogik, welcome aboard to our community. Have you tried to turn on the Always Connected option to improve the Bluetooth connection between your phone and tracker? Note that turning on this feature may cause the battery on your tracker to drain more quickly than normal. Another additional suggestion, If your mobile device has OS 5.0 or later, you may need to configure the default text messaging apps by tapping Settings > More >Default SMS app. Since you mentioned that it was working before it possible that you need to do the followingtap Allow Notifications Access to reconfigure your notification settings. Check the box next to "Fitbit Notification Service" and in the notice that appears tap OKIf you're using Android Marshmallow, also make sure you grant the Fitbit app access to the requested features of your mobile device.

Hope this helps and keep me posted how it goes.
