I consider myself very active and love my Surge. My Surge is approximately 16 months old and I have charging issues over the past few months. When I plug in the charger, the contacts don't always touch and I have to set it just right and not go near it while charging. It appears that over the months, the pins on the watch themselves wear down from moving on the wrist. I contacted Fitbit and they told me that because it's out of warranty, they could offer me a little discount on a new one. While the discount itself would help procure a new device, I could still find a new one cheaper on Ebay.
Like I stated, I am pretty active and have a year goal of 10 million steps. My original goal was 4 million with a stretch of 5 million for the year, but I reached that mid-year, so I'm pushing for 10 million. I'm sure all that movement and sweating has worn the pins.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm not sure I want to buy a new watch every year to keep up with things. I'm also researching other brands of devices that charge differently if this is going to be something I run into yearly.

@Jakesintpa, I may or may not have the same issue with my Surge (which was a replacement a few months back so it is relatively new); in my case I have two USB cables, one pretty much works first time-every time, the other I have to fuss with to get it to charge my Surge.
Have you tried ordering a new cable from Fitbit?

I have 2 cables already for the watch and both have the same effect which is why I believe the issue may be with the watch.
