I've had my Fitbit Surge for about 2 yrs and it is in pristine condition with the exception to the band. It has started to peel away from where one of the screws are which is disappointing as there is nothing else wrong with it.
Does Fitbit sell replacements bands or is a non genuine band recommended? I would appreciate thoughts on a remedy.
Cheers.
Earl.

The Surge band wasn't designed to be replaceable as there are certain components built into it. So you won't find any replacements available from fitbit.
However, people have worked out how to replace the band and you can get 3rd party kits on the likes of eBay. They do require some DIY skills but there are videos to help with that on YouTube.
You say you've had it for about 2 years. If you are in Europe then the warranty runs for 2 years so could you still be covered? A warranty claim would be an easier route.

Thank you the reply Steve.
I'm in Australia so I guess we aren't covered by the same warranty.

I seem to remember that there were some changes with the Australian warranty and I'm not sure where we stand. It might be worth contacting customer support just in case: contact.fitbit.com
I've found the live chat to work well

As others have indicated, you can get replacement bands that are not too difficult to install, and work quite well. I replaced my band with a KingAcc, from Amazon. As good as the original. I also recommend getting a case cover, which helps the bands last even longer

Hi Earl,
Surprisingly, Fitbit never offered band replacements, instead, if it breaks, they'll replace the entire unit while covered under warranty. The band is replaceable! 🤫
I second @VaTech75's response, there are quality replacements available on Amazon and eBay. I purchased the BeneStellar brand from Amazon, as it included color choices, extra screws, all necessary tools, and an 18-month no hassle replacement warranty for $10 with Prime shipping. I also purchased an eBay one for $5 previously, which lasted a year. Installation is really easy, the first time though, you'll be prying off some glue. The band basically has a stair-step locking mechanism. Once you remove the old one, make sure to transfer the Bluetooth antenna (this is where you'll maybe want to see the Youtube videos), and the new one will snap right into place. Then, just add the screws with the included screwdriver (you don't need glue) and enjoy your spiffy new looking Surge 😎 Cheers!

I ordered one through ebay. Came with 4 new screws, and a tool kit for $8.00 cdn ibcluding shipping.
chec out the videos on youtube on how to replace the battery. I think overall about $30 or less on ebay or amazon

The 2 year warranty is fine but I had the original watch replaced by Fitbit then the same thing occurred on the next watch ( strap bubbles up) Fitbit then wouldn’t replace as had already replaced the item. I’ve had 4 of theses style band watches and all had had the strap bubble up

Thank you Earl for posing the question. Mine has started recently and I have only "really" been wearing it since September 2019 because I lost my ONE while traveling abroad. The ONE is still the best and most diverse of all the models in my opinion. I have purchased an INSPIRE but I am not in love with the readout at all. Plus, I love my other watches and don't require a Smartwatch -- just one for my exercising.
I also appreciated all of the info about modifying the existing band. I have tried contact glues, Gorilla Glue plus clamps to no avail. Many thanks again.
