I have been using my Surge for nearly 9 months now and for the first time today it failed to provide a gps map of my run. I was receiving buzzing notifications for pace and distance at normal regular intervals but no map to analyse afterwards. (My heartrate data was recorded and provided along with total distance covered and total time taken). The run was over the same course I run every Saturday morning and no other runners there had this problem. Without changing any settings I went for a smaller run afterwards which was tracked normally. Does anyone know the reason for the malfunction / how I can prevent it happening again?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Carisell ! It was the only time you got that error? Have you tried logging out and logging back into your Fitbit app?
I'll be around!

This is happening EVERY time I go for a run. and while i am in a settled area, i am not in NYC or anything... I have used a Garmin watch and Strava on my iphone for many years but never seen anything like this. This is not even close to industry standards for a GPS fitness tracker. Will a software update fix this sometime soon (since i bought the Surge for the GPS...)? Thanks

Thanks for the heads up my friend @megkds! I'd recommend getting in touch with Customer Support directly, so they can do a deeper investigation and see where the issue is coming from.
Don't forget to keep me posted about the outcome!
