Fitbit Surge quality

I bought my Fitbit Surge over year ago and as I don't have any issues with functionality and features the quality of product could be better. It measure hear rate, GPS is great, steps, calories etc everything works how it should work. Hovewer over 1 year I had to replace my Fitbit twice. First time after less than 12 months screen developed some strange effect of darker stain when backlight was on. Fitbit support is great, no question asked, no hassle, it was replaced in 4 days. Second time band start peeling 2 months after I get replacement. Again support replace it. It's still under warranty for about 10 months and I might replace it 2 more times or even more but what happend after that? When it brakes again you need to buy new one. Surge cost around £160 and for that price you would expect something what will last longer than 10 or 2 months.

Regarding the quality, we work hard to deliver what our users wants and thanks to the feedback as the one you brought to our attention, the development team has made big changes to the quality of the newest models of the Fitbit trackers and I'm sure this wont stops here since new features and improvements are released constantly.

I also bought a Surge device just over a year ago to replace my fitbit One.  Shortly after I purchased the device I began having issues with the device holding a charge.  I contacted support who promptly sent me a replacement, which also had problems holding a charge.  Again I contacted support and the device was replaced.  The third device seemed to have addressed the battery issue, and I have been using it daily for just about 1 year.  The problem I ran across now is that the rubber coating on the band is separating from the watch.  This is annoying as also makes the device cosmetically unacceptable for business wear.  I contacted FITBIT support again, and was told that my device was out of warranty, but I could recieve a 25% discount on a new device.  I ask you, does it make sense to purchase another $250 dollar device, even at a discount when you will be throwing it away in a year?
