Hello all,
I don't know about you but all I've seen on the forum (aside from very helpful answers from fitbit users as apposed to from fitbit employess) is solutions that consist of "have you tried voting for it ?"
"Actually your fitbit doesn't have that feature"
"No there's only 16 exercises and you have to log the rest manually"
"You'll have to use myfitnesspal instead"
Which to me isn't good enough, I expected, for the price, to have a product with huge versatility. Don't get me wrong The fitbit Surge I have does what it does well, but I want an excessive amount of exercises choices without having to post and vote and wait for an update, I want to have an unbelieveable food logging experience without having to use another system (no disrespect to myfitnesspal, but it was my understanding I was getting into bed with fitbit !? I don't want to hear 'no your fitbit can't do that' I'd pay the extra for a waterproof, not water resistant, smart watch.
The point I'm trying to make is yes, what the fitbit does, it does great, but it could certainly be better with additional features and quite frankly, it just seems lazy on the creators part

Thank you for your reply.
Fitbit does provide me with motivation and helps me reach my daily goals, as I said previously, what it does, it does really well. However I feel, and it seems a lot of users do to, that the apps and website designed to asist it are poor and it's a shame to let such a great product down.
For example, it's claimed that feedback is provided to the fitbit team and we have a chance to give input through a voting system, however I recently came across the issue of decimal points in the food log and see that the issue was raised months ago and nothing has yet changed ?
I love this product and am considering getting the new Alta for my partner, but she's even more expectant than me ! And would expect a quality app to assist the quality device !
So yes I do have a few questions
What is the expected waiting time for a change to occur once it's been raised by members ?
How many members does an issue need to be raised by ?
Why is the exercise option so limited ?
And do community posts actually get passed on the fitbit team ?
Thank you

I've had a Fitbit Force, Flex and Surge. In my opinion Fitbit gets a "D" grade on adding features. Features are added slowly, and without regard to the top voted Feature Requests. For example the top 2 are:
1. Idle alert
2. iOS Health app integration
Idle alert was requested over 2 years ago, and will appear next month on new Fitbit Alta and then Fitbit Blaze with no commitment for other devices. The iOS Health App request is over 18 months old. There are a lot of other valuable feature requests, many found on competitor' fitness devices, and they sit there on the Feature Request board for months or years.
Worse, the Idle Alert request has been closed as it *will be* available in Alta when that is released. That request is over 2 years old, for devices available back then, and now Fitbit moderator has closed the request and those devices aren't getting Idle Alert! Instead the moderator points folks to "Reminders to Move for Surge and Charge HR" and those devices were *not* available when that Idle Alert Feature Request was started.
Isn't that convenient, Fitbit claims victory on a feature request, even though the solution a) isn't available yet, and b) doesn't apply to devices available when the request was made. Shameful.

Fitbit is essentially a hardware company. The simple fact is they have to continue to add products/features to continue to grow revenue. There is less incentive to upgrade older devices. To us, the user, that may seem short sighted since we may actaully be buyers/upgraders in the future. I guess their internal data suggests that users who upgrade will stay in the "family" regardless of the past customer service.
