Hi
Could someone please me the difference between lap splits and Mile splits on free running?
The laps state 1 mile but are a different pace to my miles listed under the mile splits - very confused!
Thanks! 🙂
as per the pictures below. Why are my miles split times different to my lap split times??? I can't see how it makes sense!

Welcome to the Forums @Diddy33, it's nice to have you here! I understand that this inconvenience is bugging you, so let's try to check a couple of things first.
Is your Fitbit App up to date? Are you using Free Running or Lap Run? If you have a picture that shows the inaccuracy it'd be great to post it, so we can have a better view of the issue.
Thank you for jumping in @ElaineD89, that's a really good question.
I appreciate the time you're taking in solving this, please keep me posted!

It's great to see you around @Kerry30. Thanks for the screenshots. Could you please tell me if the information that the tracker displays at the moment of ending the activity is the same that you are seeing in the app? In the meantime, I recommend checking if your app is Updated by following @MarreFitbit's instructions.
Let me know the outcome.

Same issue here, why would pace time be different from lap time?

Hello @Kerry30 and welcome aboard to our Community @ducky55. note this difference can be explain as follow. In the context of running, "Pace" can mean the inverse of speed. I.e., whereas speed is measured in units of distance per unit of time (e.g. miles/km per hour), pace is measured in units of time per unit of distance (e.g. minutes per mile). In other words with Lap split is the pace you made in the specific time of the lap. WIth Mile Splits is the pace you made in the course of 1 mile.
Hope this information helps and if you have further questions let me know.

Roberto.
I am equally as confused as everyone else. If each lap is 1.00 miles (as Kerry30's miles 1-9 are), then I would expect the pace for lap splits and mile splits to be identical. What are we missing?
Referencing Kerry30's snapshots, and using my personal experience; while running my Surge would have indicated I ran 9+ miles, my "lap splits" in the app would also indicate this. The discrepancy/confusion/frustration is with everything else; the activity header, "mile splits" tab and whatever is uploaded to an outside service (Strava) which would all say I ran 5.95 miles.

Hi there @jonwills and @JasonZh. welcome aboard to our Community. Note this numbers basically are the same since one is the time you made one mile and pace is the time it took to you to complete the lap split.
I have been testing this issue and as you said @JasonZh there is not big difference at the moment to compare. Here are my numbers if you need them as reference.
As you can see the difference is minimum. So let me ask if this is happening only with the exercise Free Run or is happening also with Lap Run? If you haven't tested feel free to use this other option and make sure the mobile app is updated to the latest version. The most recent one is 2.33 for Android and 2.27 for iOS.
It might be require to restart your phone after the update in case you need to update the app.
Let me know these details and if you have further questions I'll be around.

Is it possible that your lap splits are in km and the other in miles? That'd explain why there are 10 for the 6 miles that you ran.
