How can I stop my fitbit from tracking the wrong exercise?

I believe i solved one problem on here but opened another can of worms.

I was wondering WHY my steps weren't syncing on the dashboard. When I am taking a walk/run and not tracking seems as if my fitbit will think I am out door biking. It will actually REMOVE my steps.

Do I have to track every single time I go for a walk/run?

No real-world walking/running; but if using an elliptical, treadmill or stepper you should to let your Surge know what activity you are doing.  I get cycling as a label sometimes if I am carrying a water bottle or cup of coffee in my tracker hand too and go to the activities list and use the pencil to edit it back to "walk".  Easiest way to have your surge "know" you are walking is to keep that tracker arm swinging normally.  Hope this helps, remember to use the pencil to edit the title of the activity rather than the trash can to delete the activity to preserve those steps. Great to meet you @Bankman1989
