How does Fitbit Surge detect specific activity?

Looked at my Fitbit Surge at end of today and surprised to see that I had been for cycle ride whereas only activity at time was mowing lawn (yes, I know it's January but strange weather we're having!). How would device have reached this conclusion?

I have the same issue. Twice in the last week it has shown I have been on bike rides at 6:50AM and 8:56PM. I can't think of a common activity I would have been doing at those times to trigger a bike ride.
