Different factors affect heart rate information while exercising, for example how you wear it and also the activity that you're performing. Please check some tips here in regards heart rate accuracy. If the issue persist tried to restart your Surge by pressing and holding the left and lower right buttons until the tracker dims and you press any button to bring it back on; and this has not worked, I would recommend to conctact Customer Support to check what is happening with your trackers.
@SFuhrmann For your Charge HR restart, press down the side button for 10-12 seconds until you get the Fitbit logo.

All the time on my Charge HR, for what it's worth. I get slightly better readings when I'm using the SkiErg, I assume because that is done standing. My rower readings, however, are usually off by 20-30 bpm. So frustrating.
