Lost Dongle - will any bluetooth dongle work?

I've misplaced my bluetooth dongle - I can't have 'lost' it so would rather not have to pay the £21 extortinate price to replace it if possible. 

 

As bluetooth dongles are available for as low as £3 off amazon can I assume that any dongle will do?

Any dongle will not do.  You can sync via a compatible smartphone if you have one while you are looking for your dongle, or borrow a friend's dingle, since any Fitbit dongle will sync any Fitbit.  If you do buy one on Amazon, make sure it says it will sync Fitbits -- then if it doesn't work you can get your money back because of misrepresentation.

Another option is if you are running Windows 10. If you are then the Windows 10 fitbit app can sync with the computers normal bluetooth and doesn't need the fitbit dongle.
