There are only 4 exercise type icons when manually logging exercise.  Is there any way to get all 7 of my shortcuts there?

@HBF are you refferring to the exercise shortcuts on the Surge?

If so go to your device settings - surge - shortcuts and add the ones you want, remove what is not wanted.

This is not manual logging which would be logged through the app or web.

I did select my shortcuts in my profile, and I see them on the Surge, but when I make a manual entry on the Website, they are not available.  There are four standard exercise types, and other than that you have to type one in.  I would like to be able to select any of my 7 shortcuts, say from a drop-down list.

@HBF first thing, the 7 shoetcuts you mention on the Blaze are not for manual logging. This is how to manually start an automatic tracking with the Blaze.

When you mention the app and the Four wvents, are yoi refferring to the GPS tracking in the app?, or the log previous activity screen, this is where manual logging is done.  Im not sure how many their are but itbis a lot, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 50 +

I have a Surge, not a Blaze.  I was referring to the part of the Dashboard where you can manually log activities.  It has four icons, for Walk, Run, Swim and Cycling.  There is also a box for entering another nonstandard activity.  Instead of that, I would like a drop-down where I could select any of the seven activites for which I have shortcuts.  The activities I would need to log most would be Weights and Circuit Training.

This manual logging for past exercises is not part of the exercise shortcuts.  Ive noticed that tapping the screen brings up a list of the recent used exercises. This makes me think that as you continue to add events the recently used exercises will become customized to you.

But since adding it here overides the trackers data, if you where wearing the tracker, it might be better to use the stopwatch found to the right. This will set a stop and start time like what happens if tracking with the blaze

Being a new user, I have sometimes forgotten to start an activity so it can be logged by the Surge -- so I need to log it manually. I guess having shortcuts available for this purpose would be a feature request, as it does not seem to be possible now.  I am used to my computer and iPhone reminding me of things -- with the Surge it is the other way around; I have to remind it!  That takes some getting used to.

Like the other new units the Surge has the ability to auto recognize several types of workouts..

If you type a few letters of tye workout wanted, it should aplear in the drop down menu. Click the name of the workout. Next time going to the looging of an entry, click and you will see it as an option in the drop down. After a few entries your personal customized  list of frequently used entries will pop up. What better shortcuts do you want?

There is no drop-down -- that is the problem. Just a text box where you can type in text. I wish I could post a screen shot to make sure we are talking about the same feature. In any case, I have gotten used to starting and stopping activities on the Surge, so I don't need to manually log them as much (hopefully, not at all). Maybe the Web app will be updated to add a drop-down with the seven selected shortcuts at some point in the future -- it is an feature that is obviously needed. Thanks for your help.

We are talking about on the web and not the app, ok

Starting and stopping on the Surge is the best way to do it, and doesn't require a phone to be nearby.

I found the drop down menu appears when logging a past activity while not wearing a tracker does work.

But when logging with the stop watch it did not work, the app did not have any problems.

As for screen shots see https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Fitbit-Community-Basics/How-To-Add-An-Image-To-Your-Post/td-p/100285...

To find out how to take a screen shot Google "screenshot OS type"
